Loiel StogdillFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, June 28, 1993 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Loiel Stogdill Loiel Wayne Stogdill, the son of Thomas and Nancy (Bowman) Stogdill, was born in Wyacondah Township, Davis County, Iowa, on January 29, 1925, and died at Lincoln, Nebraska on June 25, 1993, at the age of 68 years, 4 months, and 26 days. He grew up in Iowa, and attended Washington Country School, and on June 19, 1943, he was inducted into the United States Army, where he served until his discharge on November 17, 1943. After his discharge he worked on a ranch in Brownlee, Nebraska, and later at Thedford. On June 2, 1958, he was united in marriage to Gladys Davis Galusha at Alliance, Nebraska. She preceded him in death on July 22, 1992. After their marriage he began driving a mail truck from Thedford to Gordon for several years. In 1963, they moved to Kearney where he worked on construction of Interstate 80. He later began trucking, which he continued until his retirement form Briggs Truck Line in 1986. They had resided in Giltner since 1978. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gladys, 6 brothers, Ray Bowman, Earl, Irvin, Icle, Elmer Lee and Lowell Stogdill, and one sister Lorraine Norman. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his children, one son Roger Galusha of Grand Island; 4 daughters, Doreen Muldoon of Lincoln, Karen Harwager of Hastings, Kathy Shonkwiler of Omaha, and Marcia Galusha of Giltner. 2 brothers, Laverne of Bloomfield, Iowa, and Eugene of Drakesville, Iowa, one sister, Lovelle Moore of Blue Hill; 15 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. |
