Olive StrohmFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, July 1, 1995 at the Hampton United Lutheran Church. Interment was held in the Hampton Cemetery. OBITUARY: Olive Strohm Olive Wanda Strohm, the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Petrasey) Tomek, was born at Table Rock, Nebraska, on October 9, 1910, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on June 28, 1995, at the age of 84 years, 8 months, and 19 days. She grew up at Table Rock, and graduated from high school. She attended normal training school at Peru, and taught rural and public school at Table Rock and Wilbur public schools. On October 24, 1943, she was united in marriage to Jesse “Jack” Strohm, at Rockport, Missouri. They lived in Geneva, Lincoln, and in May of 1951,l they moved to Hampton, where they owned and operated Jack’s Café until November of 1972. “Jack” preceded her in death on December 7, 1988. In August of 1994, she entered the Memorial Care Center at the Memorial Hospital in Aurora. Olive was an avid Cubs Baseball and Nebraska sports fan, and a Hampton sports fan. She was also a member of the Hampton Legion Auxiliary and belonged to bridge clubs. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother John. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son Charles “Chuck” Strohm of Hampton; her daughter Dorothy Lange and her husband Ron of Omaha; a brother Joseph Tomek of Table Rock; 2 grand children, and 3 great grandchildren. |
