Arleene TalichArleene Talich, age 80, of Giltner died Monday, November 6, 2000 at Memorial Hospital in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Giltner. Rev. Nora Leeds will officiate. Interment will be at the Giltner Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Giltner. Higby Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Giltner United Methodist Church. OBITUARY: ARLEENE TALICH Arleene B. Talich, the daughter of Ward and Henrietta (Bartlett) Hartzell was born in Inland, Nebraska on June 28, 1920 and died in Aurora, Nebraska, on November 6, 2000, at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 8 days. She grew up in Giltner and attended the rural Franklin School. She worked at Tommy’s Café in Hastings and the Giltner Tavern for her parents. Arleene was united in marriage to Richard Talich on November 15, 1944 at Columbus, Nebraska. The couple farmed near Giltner. In 1965, they owned and ran the Giltner Tavern until their retirement in 1973. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Giltner and the Auxiliary of the Doniphan American Legion. Arleene enjoyed dancing, cooking and especially time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Edna Bevilhimer and Ruth Hultine and a brother, Wayne Hartzell. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Richard of Giltner; two sons, Gary and his wife Donna of Hastings and Rob and his wife Dawn of Omaha; daughter, Pat Chandler and her husband Jon of Westminister, Colorado; two sisters, Dorothy Happold of Aurora and Letha Warrick of Fremont, Nebraska; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. |
