Adelaide TappanAdelaide Peterson Tappan, age 87, of Aurora died Friday, September 17, 1999, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora. Graveside Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 25, 1999 at Aurora Cemetery in Aurora. Rev. Jay Mitchell will officiate. Inurnment will be at Aurora Cemetery in Aurora. OBITUARY: ADELAIDE TAPPAN Adelaide Peterson Tappan, the daughter of A. Einer and M. Adelaide (Thomas) Peterson, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on January 31, 1912 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on September 17, 1999, at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 16 days. She grew up in Aurora and she attended Aurora High School for two years before graduating from Stephens High School in Columbia, Missouri. Adelaide attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln where she majored in History. Adelaide was married to Robert Wells Borden from 1932 to 1947. They had a son and a daughter. She was married to Alan P. Tappan from 1955 to 1959. Adelaide loved to travel. After spending most of her adult life in California, Adelaide moved back to Aurora in June. She loved Aurora and was proud of her heritage here. Adelaide recently confirmed her faith in Jesus Christ and was prepared to meet her Lord and Savior. She will be laid to rest in Aurora Cemetery next to her father and mother. Her daughter, Sari Ann Anderson, preceded her in death on October 6, 1974. She is survived by one son, Robert Einer Borden of Escondido, California; two grandsons, Mark Borden of Vista, California and Ryan Borden of Escondido, California; two granddaughters, Majda Anderson of Santorini, Greece and Reine Feldman of Walnut Creek, California; one great grandson, Arie Feldman of Walnut Creek, California and one great granddaughter, Eva Feldman of Walnut Creek, California. |
