Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 20, 1979 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Stockham Cemetery.

OBITUARY: John Tessman

John Tessman was born at Korn, Oklahoma on October 23, 1903, the son of Jacob and Agnes Klippenstein Tessman. His death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on January 17, 1979 at the age of 75 years 2 months and 24 days.

The family came to Nebraska in a covered wagon, when he was a small child. They came to the Henderson Community, where they resided for a short time and then moved to Litchfield, Nebraska. After a short time there, they returned to Henderson and later to the Stockham Community.

Jack, as he was known to his many friends, received his education in the Rural Schools in the Henderson and Eldorado Communities.

On March 9, 1938 he was united in marriage to Marie Hefty at Henderson, Nebraska. They farmed in the vicinity of Stockham, until their retirement in 1972. In October of 1972 they moved to Sutton, Nebraska where they have since resided.

His parents; one brother, Frank Tessman and two brothers in their infancy and one sister, Mrs. Marie Peters, had preceded him in death.

Those who survive are his wife, Marie; three sons, Marvin of Sutton; Douglas of Stockham and Don of Aurora; seven sisters; Mrs. Martha Rath of Harvard; Mrs. Helen Cook and Mrs. Annie Korel both of Culbertson, Nebraska; Mrs. Rosalie Porath of Detroit, Michigan; Mrs. Irene Pope of Hemet, California; Mrs. Agnes Funk and Mrs. Hazel Korel both of McCook; seven grandsons and one granddaughter and other relatives and close friends.
