Harlan ThomsenFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 21, 1988 at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Kronborg. Interment was held in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. OBITUARY: Harlan Ivan Thomsen Harlan Ivan Thomsen, the son of Herluff and Mae (Rasmussen) Thomsen, was born near Marquette, Nebraska, on August 5, 1930, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on January 19, 1988, at the age of 57 years, 5 months, and 14 days. He grew up in the Marquette and Kronborg area, and attended rural schools. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War from 1954 to 1956, and then returned to the Kronborg area where he farmed. On January 25, 1970, he was united in marriage to Lucille Gimpel at Giltner. Ivan was confirmed and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at Kronborg. He was also a member of the Hampton American Legion Post #141, and was a lifetime member of the Aurora V.F.W. Post #4993. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Arthur Carl, and a twin brother in infancy. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Lucille; his mother-in-law Gladys Gimpel of Aurora, nieces and nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and close friends. |
