OBITUARY: RUBY TITMAN

Ruby Arvilla Titman, the youngest daughter of George and Hilma (Johnson) Sands, was born on the family farm in Monroe Precinct, Hamilton County, Nebraska on February 14, 1906 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on April 8, 2004, at the age of 98.

Ruby attended elementary school at District #47 and graduated from Aurora High School with the Class of 1925. As with many young women of that era, she stayed on the family farm as a helpmate to her mother. The family moved to Aurora in 1940.

Ruby was united in marriage to Edmund Titman on her birthday, February 14, 1956. Edmund passed away on April 27, 1969. Ruby has spent the last ten years of her life at Memorial Community Care.

She attended the Aurora United Methodist Church until her health would not allow her to. Ruby devoted her life to her family and friends, where she especially enjoyed the social gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; her sister, Edna Peterson Dahlstedt and two brothers, Carl and Clarence Sands and sister-in-law, Claire Sands.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law, Mildred Sands of Aurora and nieces and nephews on both the Sands and Titman sides of the family.
