Rollie ToofFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 18, 1983 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Rollie E. Toof Rollie E. Toof, the son of Rollie E. and Eva Maude (Archer) Toof, Sr., was born at Aurora, Nebraska, on October 23, 1918. His death occurred at Little Rock, Arkansas on June 15, 1983, at the age of 64 years, 7 months and 22 days. He spent his childhood on his parents farm and was educated in the public schools of this vicinity and graduated from Aurora High School. From June 5, 1941, until December 31, 1942, he served in the United States Army. As a young boy he joined the Prairie Gem United Brethren Church, southwest of Aurora. He was a member of the Aurora Lodge No. 68 A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Eagles Lodge in Grand Island. On November 21, 1948, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Hardin at Des Moines, Iowa. In 1950, they moved to Aurora, where Rollie was self employed as a painter and decorator, retiring in 1978, and moved to their present home in Mountain Home, Arkansas. One son was born to them. His parents and one brother Maurice preceded him in death. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Dorothy, one son James of Hampton, Nebraska; one sister Mrs. Evelyn Palmer of Aurora and two grandchildren and other relatives and close friends. |
