Eugene TournorFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, September 14, 1988 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Eugene Tournor Eugene Frederick Tournor, the son of Edward and Mernie Tournor, was born at Hornell, New York, on November 7, 1921, and passed away at Lincoln, Nebraska, on September 11, 1988, at the age of 66 years, 10 months, and 4 days. He grew up in New York, and graduated from Hornell High School. He worked as a shop foreman at a garage in Hornell. On July 4, 1942, he was united in marriage to Betty Jane Hinckley at Hornell, New York. She passed away on September 5, 1987. He served his country during World War II, in the United States Army from August 20, 1943 to October 20, 1945. For the past 20 years he has lived in several places in Nebraska, spending the longest time in North Platte and a short time in Aurora, where he worked in garages. For the past 3 years he has lived in Columbus and worked for Nielsen Chevrolet. Eugene loved to fish and go camping. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Betty. Those who remain to cherish his memory are 5 sons; Tom Good of Austrailia, Larry Tournor of Aurora, Mike Tournor of Grand Island, Chuck Tournor of Minden, and Gary Tournor of Aurora; 4 daughters, Sharon Aden of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, Jackie Schwanz of Gothenburg, Rhea Harms of Gothenburg, and Debra Luff, of Overton; 31 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. |
