Lawrence TraudtFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 6, 1998 at Stockham Community Church in Stockham, Nebraska. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Lawrence Traudt Lawrence Wilmer Traudt, the son of John and Elizabeth (Bauer) Traudt, was born on a farm south of Stockham, Nebraska, on November 28, 1913, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on June 1, 1998, at the age of 84 years, 6 months, and 3 days. He grew up and attended school at Stockham and graduated from Stockham High School as valedictorian with the class of 1932. Following graduation he moved to Aurora, Illinois, where his brother Harold was living, and began working for the International Harvester Company for several years. On August 9, 1940, he was united in marriage to Cletys Tucker in Long Beach, California. She preceded him in death on August 27, 1976. They moved to a farm near Aurora in 1942. In 1973, they retired and moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas. In 1980, he moved to Grand Island, where he lived until moving to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1994. Subsequent to a stroke in 1995, he lived with his daughters until entering the Hamilton Manor in Aurora on May 9, 1997. Lawrence had been an active member of the Stockham Bible Church. He was an avid golfer and bowler, enjoyed traveling, coin collecting, and was a sports fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter Laurie Underwood, 3 brothers, Fredrick, Harold, and Donald; one sister Margaretha Sinner. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his four daughters, Carole Lynne Byall of Loveland, Colorado, Rebecca Traudt of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Victoria Mikysa of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Robin Jahraus of Hilo, Hawaii; two brothers Leonard of Grand Island, and Maynard of Glens Ferry, Idaho; one sister Virginia Bergen of Sutton; and 15 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. |
