Peter Traudt

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, May 12, 1992 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Peter E. Traudt

Peter Evon Traudt, the son of Peter and Myrtle (Dreisbach) Traudt, was born at Stockham, Nebraska on August 16, 1912, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on May 9, 1992, at the age of 79 years, 8 months, and 23 days.

He grew up in the Stockham area and graduated from Stockham High School in 1929, and then farmed in the Stockham area.

On January 4, 1935, he was united in marriage to Mildred George at York. She preceded him in death on April 16, 1982. After their marriage they continued farming near Stockham, until 1973, when they sold the farm and moved into Aurora. He then worked as a nigh watchman at the York Reformatory and Dale’s Electronics, in York, and Behlen Manufacturing in Aurora, he was also a custodian at the Steenburg Clinic in the late 1970’s.

On April 17, 1983, he married Ruth (Runyan) Valentine, at Aurora. They continued to reside in Aurora.

“Pete” attended the Aurora Faith Community Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mildred, 2 brothers, Wayne and Clinton, and one sister Helen Miller.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his son Russell of Hastings; 4 step-sons, Les Valentine of Aurora, Tom Valentine of Hastings, Stuart Valentine of Omaha, and Jerry Valentine of Meadow Grove; one daughter, LaVonne Taylor and her husband Jim or Harvard, one step-daughter Nancy Bieck of Giltner; one brother Warren E. Traudt of Hemet, California; 2 sisters, Ruth Carlson of Bradshaw and Esther Smith of Colonial Heights, Virginia; one grandson, John Taylor and his wife Laura; 2 great grandchildren Michelle and Ray Taylor and 7 step-grandchildren.
