Florence Troester

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Friday, December 5, 1997 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton, Nebraska. Interment was held in the Hampton Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Florence Troester

Florence Eureka Troester, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Yeske) Zastrow, was born at Columbia, South Dakota, on May 27, 1909, and died at Glenco, Minnesota on November 29, 1997, at the age of 88 years, 6 months, and 2 days.

She grew up at Columbia, where she attended high school, and later attended Concordia Teachers College at Seward, Nebraska for two years. She taught country school for 3 years, one of which was at Salem School near Hampton, and 2 years at Wayne, Nebraska.

On August 7, 1933, she was united in marriage to Walter Troester at Columbia, South Dakota. After their marriage they farmed near Hampton and following the tornado in 1964, they moved into Hampton. Walter preceded her in death on December 28, 1991.

For the past 6 years she has lived between Lakewood, Colorado, and Young America, Minnesota, with her family.

Florence was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers, and 5 sisters.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Carolyn Durbin and her husband Robert, of Young America, Minnesota, and Laures Runnels of Lakewood, Colorado; a sister Ida Matthies of Dearborn, Michigan; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, and many other relatives.
