Gertrude Troester

Funeral Services were held 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, March 17, 1993 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Interment was held in the Salem Cemetery south of Hampton.

OBITUARY: Gertrude Troester

Gertrude Pauline Troester, the daughter of Paul and Ida (Kath) Medow, was born at Hampton, Nebraska, on February 22, 1901, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 13, 1993, at the age of 92 years, and 21 days.

She grew up near Hampton, where she attended school.

On August 23, 1925, she was united in marriage to Gustav Troester, at Hampton. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1963. Her entire life time was spent in the Hampton area, and in 1985 she moved to Colonial Corner in Aurora, and on October 15, 1990, she entered the Bethesda Care Center in Aurora.

Gertrude was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton, and belonged to the ladies aid, and L.W.M.L., the Hampton Legion Auxiliary #141, and the L & M Extension Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Jerry and Adolph Medow, and a son-in-law Dwayne “Bud” Rehrs.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are 2 sons, Melvin and his wife Noni, and Omer and his wife Bert, one daughter LaRue Rehrs all of Hampton; 2 sisters, Irene Gerard of Aurora, and Lily Packer of Twin Falls, Idaho; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
