Leonard TroesterFuneral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 22, 1988 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Salem Cemetery southwest of Hampton. OBITUARY: Leonard Troester Leonard Herman Troester, the son of Herman and Helen (Salchow) Troester, was born at Salem, near Hampton, Nebraska, on August 31, 1922, and passed away suddenly, April 19, 1988, at Aurora, Nebraska, at the age of 65 years, 6 months, and 18 days. He grew up in the Hampton area and attended Hampton Parochial and Public Schools. He later farmed with his father. On April 4, 1948, he was united in marriage to Esther Heider at the Aurora First Evangelical Lutheran Church. They farmed in Hamilton County after their marriage, and he was still actively involved until his death. Leonard was baptized September 24, 1922 at Salem, and confirmed May 23, 1937, at Salem. He was a lifetime member of the Aurora First Evangelical Lutheran Church, and served as Elder for many years. He was a very active member of the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one daughter-in-law, Shirley Troester. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Esther; 2 sons, Myron of Hampton, and Richard and his wife Ann of Gothenburg; one daughter Jennifer Hoffman and her husband James of Lincoln; 2 brothers, Lyle and Leland, both of Hampton; one sister Ardith Kokes of Grand Island; 4 grandchildren, Chad Troester, Troy Hoffman, Shauna Troester, and Justin Troester; and many other relatives and friends. |
