Walter Troester

Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 31, 1991 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Interment was held in the Hampton Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Walter Troester

Walter Albert Troester, the son of Gottlieb and Matilda (Wall) Troester, was born at Hampton, Nebraska, on December 8, 1906, and died suddenly at Aurora, Nebraska, on December 28, 1991, at the age of 85 years and 20 days.

He grew up and attended country school near Hampton, and graduated from Hampton High School in 1925. He then began farming the family farm 6 miles southwest of Hampton.

On August 7, 1933 he was united in marriage to Florence Zastrow at Columbia, South Dakota. After their marriage they continued farming, and following the tornado in 1964, they moved into Hampton, and he retired from farming in 1968. After retirement he enjoyed his family, gardening, golfing, and being with friends.

Walt was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton.

He was honored at a family gathering on his 85 birthday, and all his grandchildren were present

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Bill and Gus; 3 sisters, Elizabeth Bamesberger, and Katie and Meta Troester.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Florence of Hampton; 2 daughters, Carolyn Durbin of Young American, Minnesota, and Laures Jane Runnels of Lakewood, Colorado; one sister, Mabel Meerkatz of Boulder, Colorado; 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
