Boyd Uehling
Boyd Uehling, age 84, of Aurora, died Sunday, September 22, 2002, at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, September 25th at the Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Rev. Rick Prettyman will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com. OBITUARY: BOYD UEHLING Boyd Uehling, the son of August and Lenora (Weigle) Uehling, was born in Crowell, Nebraska on June 11, 1918 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on September 22, 2002, at the age of 84. The family moved to Scribner, Nebraska where he spent most of his younger years. Boyd graduated from Scribner High School. Boyd was married to Dorothy Alice Thaden on September 1, 1940 at Blair, Nebraska. Boyd helped manage Hundahl Farms for in Tekamah until 1966, when they moved to Doniphan where Boyd farmed for nine years. In 1974, they moved to Aurora, where Boyd worked for Bonnavilla for seven years before retiring. Boyd was a member of the Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. He enjoyed gardening, helping friends with house repairs, Bible Study and visiting friends until his health failed. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Marcia Carrol; three brothers, Francis, Alfred and Willmore and three sisters, Luella Hendricksen, Mable Clatenoff and Alma Hiestand. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Dorothy of Aurora; two sons, Kenneth D. Uehling of Tekamah and David L. Uehling of Grand Island; 2 grandchildren, Melissa Uehling of Hot Springs, South Dakota and Boyd LeRoy Uehling of Lincoln; 3 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Violet Briggs of Lincoln and June Sampson and Dolly Knoell both of Fremont and nieces, nephews and friends. |
