Wilber UlreyWilber Ulrey, age 79, of Aurora died Wednesday afternoon, July 26, 2000 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday at the Aurora Cemetery. Jerry Bady of Stolley Park Church of Christ in Grand Island will officiate. Interment will be in Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora. OBITUARY: WILBER ULREY Wilber LeRoy Ulrey, the son of Arthur Bradley and Nora Ellen (Forbes) Ulrey, was born in Elkart, Kansas on January 18, 1921 and died in Grand Island, Nebraska on July 26, 2000, at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 8 days. His family moved from Elkhart, Kansas to Brewster, Kansas when he was four years old. He attended school in Brewster. Later Wilber moved to Colby, Kansas. He was not able to work because of a handicap and poor health. Later his family moved to LaSalle, Colorado where he lived with his mother until her passing. Wilber then came to live with his brother, Elmer, and wife Lucille in Aurora, Nebraska in 1987. He moved to Hamilton Manor in September 1996. Wilber was a member of the Stolley Park Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Lewis Thompson, one sister, Lois Gardner and three brothers, Hubert, Arthur and Elmer. Survivors include his three sisters, DeLoy Way of Evans, Colorado, Marie Brock of Arvada, Colorado and Myrtle Koder of Brighton, Colorado; one brother, Russell Ulrey and his wife Stephanie of Aguanga, California; sister-in-laws, Lucille Ulrey of Aurora and Donna Ulrey of Brighton, Colorado and many nieces, nephews and friends. |
