Ruth Valentine
Ruth Valentine, age 74, of Aurora, died Tuesday morning, November 6, 2001, at Hamilton Manor. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday at the Faith Community Church in Aurora. Rev. Jerry Breese will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Higby Mortuary. OBITUARY: RUTH VALENTINE Eva Ruth Valentine, the daughter of Wright and Eva Blanche (Snider) Runyan, was born at Mason City, Nebraska on October 18, 1927 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on November 6, 2001, at the age of 74 years. She grew up in Mason City, where she attended school and graduated from Mason City High School in 1945. Ruth moved to York in 1947, where she worked at a grocery store. Ruth was united in marriage to Robert Ellsworth Valentine on September 5, 1948 at Mason City, Nebraska. They lived in York, McCool Junction and Superior before moving to Aurora in September of 1952. Robert passed away on November 30, 1981. Ruth was a member of the Faith Community Church. She enjoyed taking care of her husband and children. Ruth was an avid fan of her husband and sons, when they competed in sports and other activities. She was preceded her in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter, Teresa, grandson, Robert John Valentine, granddaughter, Pamela Kay Valentine, a brother, Richard Runyan and a sister, Una Mae Zeleski. Ruth is survived by her five children, Robert "Les" Valentine and his wife Beverly of Aurora, Thomas Valentine and his wife Marsha of Hastings, Nancy Bieck and her husband Neil of Giltner, Stuart Valentine and his wife Karen of Omaha and Jerry Valentine of Meadow Grove, Nebraska; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 3 brothers, Dean Runyan of Oakhurst, California, Donald Runyan of Indianapolis, Indiana and Jim Runyan of Lincoln. |
