William Vandeman

William “Bill” Vandeman, age 63, of Aurora died Monday evening, September 13, 1999, in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora. Rev. Al Duminy will officiate. Interment will be at Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 5 and 7 to 9 Wednesday at Higby Mortuary.

OBITUARY: WILLIAM VANDEMAN

William “Bill” Dale Vandeman, the son of Clarence and Eula (Wagner) Vandeman, was born in South Bend, Nebraska on August 6, 1936 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on September 13, 1999, at the age of 63 years, 1 month and 7 days.

He attended school in Ashland. He enlisted in the Navy after high school and was stationed in California on the USS Knudson from 1954-1962. He married Cheryl Sikyta on August 27, 1962. They resided in Ashland, Imperial and Aurora. They had three sons.

On September 14, 1992, he was united in marriage to Marylyn Svoboda. Bill was the Utilities Superintendent for the City of Aurora.

Bill was a member of the V.F.W. and Legion, and 40 & 8. He was District 34 Representative for the Silver Haired Senator and Secretary of NWOD (Nebraska Water Organization). His passion was his Harley.

He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, William Dale, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Marylyn of Aurora, two sons, Dave and his wife Lucinda of Ankeny, Iowa, Dan and his wife Belinda of Omaha; two step-daughters, Mary Harris and her husband Dell, Stacy Cooper; four grandchildren; William, Megan, Tori and Dani; three step-grandchildren, Brittney, Cade and Brooke; four brothers, Bob Vandeman, Jim Vandeman and his wife Judy, Fred Vandeman, Larry Vandeman and his wife Lena.
