Betty Vetter

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 1, 1994 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Betty Vetter

Betty Marie Vetter, the daughter of William and Charlotte (Blades) Shaneyfelt, was born at Aurora, Nebraska, on May 13, 1924, and died at Grand Island, Nebraska, on January 29, 1994, at the age of 69 years, 8 months, and 16 days.

She grew up in Aurora, and graduated from the Aurora High School with the class of 1942.

On July 29, 1942, she was united in marriage to Lynn E. Vetter at Aurora. After their marriage they lived in Grand Island for a short time before moving to Glendale, California, where they lived from 1943 to 1944, when they returned to Grand Island, and in 1945, they moved to Aurora, where they have since resided.

Betty was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, had belonged to a sewing club, was a Cub Scout leader for over 8 years, when her children were growing up, and was a devoted mother for her children, especially to their son Bill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Isabell Shaneyfelt, and one grandson, Deon Penner.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Lynn of Aurora; 4 sons, Mike of Alpharetta, Georgia, Jim of Papillion, Jeff of Fairbury, and Bill at home in Aurora. One daughter Judy Penner of Aurora; 2 brothers, Dean Shaneyfelt of Aurora, and Joe Shaneyfelt of St. George, Kansas; 3 sisters, Aleen Gleason and Maysel Pedersen, both of Seward, and Doris Vetter of Aurora; and 9 grandchildren.
