Max VetterFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 23, 1987 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Max Vetter Max Bernard Vetter, the son of Frank and Saloma (Springer) Vetter, was born at Aurora, Nebraska, on January 1, 1917, and passed away at Lincoln, Nebraska, on May 21, 1987, at the age of 70 years, 4 months, and 20 days. He attended Aurora Schools, and farmed for several years. On October 24, 1939, he was united in marriage to Doris Shaneyfelt, at Mankato, Kansas. Max worked as a mechanic and in 1944, Vetter Brothers Garage was started. In 1978 the garage was sold and he retired. He was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. Max was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Ray, and one infant granddaughter. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Doris; 2 sons, Alan of Keflavik, Iceland and Gene of Chula Vista, California, both serving in the Armed Forces; four daughters, Sharon Wright of Lincoln, Charlotte Pinson of Lincoln, Jacque Eggli of Stromsburg, and Beth Lacey of Lincoln; 3 brothers, Dale, Lynn and Robert, all of Aurora; 14 grandchildren, and many other relatives, friends, and business acquaintances. |
