Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, August 25, 1997 at the Aurora Evangelical Covenant Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Lennart Wadell

Lennart Wadell, the son of Oscar and Maria (Larson) Wadell, was born at Nissafors, Sweden, on September 28, 1909, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on August 24, 1997, at the age of 87 years, 10 months, and 26 days.

At the age of 3 his family moved to Nebraska, where he attended school, and later farmed with his father.

On March 1, 1936, he was united in marriage to Garnett Johnson, at Holdred, Nebraska. She preceded him in death on August 17, 1973.

Following his marriage he began farming for himself south west of Aurora. In 1932, he won the Hamilton County corn shucking contest, and participated in the state contest. In 1974, he moved into Aurora, and in September of 1996 he entered the Memorial Community Care at the Aurora Memorial Hospital in Aurora.

Lennart was a long time member of the Aurora Evangelical Covenant Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother Everett and a sister Anna Wadell.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his tow sons, Marvin of Stromsburg and Gerald of Phoenix, Arizona; one daughter Loreen Miller of Sterling, Colorado; one brother Helmer of Aurora; and 5 grandchildren.
