Martin Wall

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 6, 1993 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Interment was held in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Hampton.

OBITUARY: Martin Wall

Martin T. Wall, the son of Jacob and Louise (Werth) Wall, was born on a farm north of Bradshaw, Nebraska, on September 26, 1902, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on December 4, 1993, at the age of 91 years, 2 months, and 8 days.

He grew up in the Hampton vicinity, where he attended school, and lived most of his life.

On February 19, 1928, he was united in marriage to Merna Splittgerber, at the Zion Lutheran Church, northeast of Hampton. They farmed northeast of Hampton and later moved to a farm west of Hampton. After they retired they moved to Aurora in December of 1967. While living in Aurora Martin took care of the Aurora Country Club golf course.

He was baptized September 26, 1902, confirmed on April 1, 1917, at the Zion Lutheran Church. He was an active member of both Zion and St. Peter Lutheran Churches, where he held several offices and was a choir member. He also played in the Hampton Community Band.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Art, one sister Selma Brockmann, and an infant sister.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Merna of Aurora; 4 sons, Donald of Tucson, Arizona, Roger of Downs, Kansas, Edgar and Dale, both of Hampton; one daughter Doris Klute of Hampton; one brother Harold Wall of Aurora; 2 sisters, Lydia Serck of Boonville, Missouri, and Clara Brockmann of Cincinatti, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
