Ed WarrenFuneral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 27, 1986 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Ed Warren Ed Richard Warren, the son of Harley and Verda (Skinner) Warren, was born at Giltner, Nebraska, on January 6, 1924, and passed away at his farm home at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 24, 1986, at the age of 62 years, 2 months, and 18 days. He attended country school and graduated from Giltner High School and then attended Hastings College for one year. From 1943 to 1945 he farmed with his father, and on March 7, 1945, he entered the United States Navy and served until July 27, 1946, when he returned to the family farm, where he farmed until his death. On September 19, 1948, he was united in marriage to Irene Johnson at Aurora. Ed was a former member of the Giltner and Aurora Christian Church, and the Prairie Gem and Aurora Evangelical United Bretheran Churches, and presently was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. He was on the original organizing board of the rural fire district, and served as secretary since it was organized in 1959, and as the only active surviving member of the original board. He was also a member of the Aurora Lions Club for many years, and had served as president. He was a member of the Aurora American Legion, and a member and secretary-treasure of the Farm Bureau Board, and had been a past member of the Co-op Oil Company. He was preceded in death by his parents. Those who survive his memory are his wife, Irene; one son Loren of Grand Island; 4 daughters, Kathleen Warren, Lynette Schultz, Verda Friesen, all of Aurora and Mary Weinrich of Grand Island; brothers, Russel of Phillips and Ellis of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters, Nellie Olson of Hastings, Glenda Wilson of Greenfield, Wisconsin and Marjorie Snodgrass of Lincoln; 9 grandchildren and many other relatives and close friends. |
