Harley WarrenFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, March 13, 1986 at the First Christian Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Harley Warren Harley Lester Warren, the son of Herbert and Corabelle (Kaylor) Warren, was born at Trumbull, Nebraska, on January 18, 1897, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 10, 1986, at the age of 89 years, 1 month, and 22 days. His early youth was spent in the Trumbull area and he attended Adams County Schools. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War I and then homesteaded in Wyoming. On May 20, 1922, he was united in marriage to Verda Skinner, at Trumbull. Six children were born to this union. She preceded him in death on May 7, 1946. He farmed in the Giltner area from 1922 to 1947, and moved to Aurora in 1947. On June 6, 1948, he was married to Mary Ethel Bute, at Aurora. She passed away on April 30, 1968. Harley was a member of the Aurora Christian Church, and had served on various church boards. He also served as custodian for over 25 years. He had also served on the school board of District #68, near Giltner, and had been on the Aurora City Council. For the last 3 years he has resided at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, 2 brothers, Roy and Stanley, and 2 sisters, Ellen Paulus and Faye O’Donnell. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his 3 sons, Ed of Aurora, Russel of Phillips and Ellis of Corpus Christi, Texas; 3 daughters, Nellie Olson of Hastings, Glenda Wilson of Greenfield, Wisconsin and Marjorie Snodgrass of Lincoln; one brother Harold of Lincoln; 3 sisters, Hazel Scott of San Diego, California, Mabel Gueck of Penticton, British Columbia, Canada, and Lorrinne Wolfe of Pomona, California; 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and close friends. |
