Harlan 'Bud' WeedinFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, January 4, 1989 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Harlan “Bud” Weedin Harland LeRoy Weedin, the son of Fred and Esther (Swedberg) Weedin, was born in Hamilton County, Nebraska, on February 10, 1922, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on January 1, 1989, at the age of 66 years, 10 months, and 21 days. He received his education at Aurora, and during World War II, he served in the U.S. Army with the 57th field hospital, from July 1944 to February 1946. After his discharge form the Army, Harlan farmed near Aurora. On December 2, 1947, he was united in marriage to Letabelle Herron at Grand Island. She preceded him in death on April 30, 1978. On June 15, 1983, he married Joann Alexander Schroeder at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. They continued living and farming near Aurora. “Bud” was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Eagles. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Letabelle, and one daughter Paula Weedin Utley. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Joann of Aurora; one daughter Jennifer Killion of Aurora; one son Matthew “Freddy” Weedin, still at home; step daughters, Kim Brandt of Centennial, Wyoming; Kathryn Schroeder of Aurora and Kristyne Ladd, of Herlong, California; 2 sisters, Alice Matson and Ruth Gage both of Aurora; 2 granddaughters, Amy Killion and Karen Killion and 2 grandsons, Kenny Killion and Dustin Brandt. “Bud” enjoyed horses, going to horse shows, and was active in 4-H. |
