Joann WeedinFuneral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 29, 1990, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Joann Weedin Joann R. Weedin, the daughter of Thomas and Edith (Odle) Alexander, was born at Wakefield, Nebraska, on December 9, 1941, and passed away at her home in Aurora, Nebraska, on October 25, 1990, after a long bout with cancer. She attended Wakefield Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1960. On November 18, 1961, she married Larry J. Donnelly. Three daughters, Kim, Kathy and Kris were born to them. Mr. Donnelly died in a construction accident on September 12, 1969. On February 15, 1970, she married John Schroeder. The family moved to Sidney, Nebraska, where they lived for 3 years, until his job transferred them to Billings, Montana. In 1975, they were transferred to Benton City, Washington, and in 1977 to Aurora. John Schroeder adopted Joann’s daughters in 1972. Mr. Schroeder died January 5, 1980. On June 15, 1983, Joann was married to Harlan “Bud” Weedin. Due to the death of Bud’s daughter, Paula, Joann and Bud adopted her baby boy, Matthew Fredrick (Freddy), to be raised as their son. “Bud” Weedin died of cancer on January 1, 1989. Joann was baptized, made her first communion and was confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Emerson, Nebraska. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora, and belonged to St. Mary’s Altar Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Ancle, one step daughter Paula, and husbands, Larry Donnelly, John Schroeder, and Harlan Weedin. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son Freddy, at home, 3 daughters, Kim Brandt of Fullerton, Kathy Schroeder and Kris Schroeder both of Aurora, one step-daughter Jenny Weedin Killion of Marquette, one brother Clyde Alexander of Emerson; 3 grandsons and one step-granddaughter; 5 step-children from her marriage to Mr. Schroeder and several nieces and nephews. |
