Charles WeikelFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 28, 1979 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held at Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Charles Albert Weikel Charles Albert Weikel, the son of Louis and Hattie Weikel, was born in Kansas on January 28, 1908. His death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on March 25, 1979 at the age of 71 years 1 month and 27 days. “Shorty” Weikel, as he was known to his friends, came to Hamilton County with his parents as a small boy. He was united in marriage to Letha Viola Schul at Covington, Kentucky on February 12, 1927. They spent their early married life in Ohio, coming to Nebraska in 1934, where he had farmed for several years, before his retirement. One daughter was born to this union. His wife preceded him in death on February 11, 1952. He had been in poor health for several months, but his passing came suddenly. His wife and parents had preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing a daughter, Katherine Irene Snodgrass of Inavale, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Christina Kay Morse and her husband, Lonnie of Cairo, Nebraska; Richard A. Morse and his wife, Janice of Juniata, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Bobby and Jamie Morse and Roger, Daniel and Stephanie Morse. Also many friends. He was a member of the Platt Duetsche Society in Grand Island. |
