Max WellerFuneral Services were held Wednesday, January 18, 1995 at Higby Mortuary Chapel in Aurora. Interment was held at the Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon, Nebraska OBITUARY: Max Weller Max Weller, the son of Howard and Loly (Gamble) Weller, was born at Gibbon, Nebraska on August 31, 1910 and died at Aurora, Nebraska on January 15, 1995 at the age of 84 years 4 months and 14 days. Max grew up and attended country school near Gibbon. On August 6, 1928, he was united in marriage to Mary Louise Grow at Smith Center, Kansas, She preceded him in death on December 19, 1980 They farmed near Gibbon until 1943 when they moved into town. He started his own meat processing business in 1944 and operated it until 1952. He then began a gunsmithing and stock making business which he continued until 1990, when he entered Memorial Community Care in Aurora. Max had been very interested in guns, and belonged to the Amateur Trap Shooting Association. He was an avid pheasant and duck hunter, and loved guns and the outdoors. Horse racing was another sport he enjoyed. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, 4 brothers, Ray, Roy, Melvin and Glen Weller, and 2 sisters, Evelyn Weller and Doris Lawson. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his son Maurice and his wife Dorothy of Aurora, 2 sisters, Dorothy Bond of Kearney and Ruth Blue of Elm Creek, 4 grandchildren, Lisa Nelson of Aurora, Tim Weller of Sacramento, California, Hiedi Lee of Aukland New Zealand, and Ami Weller of Aurora, and 2 great grandchildren, Larce and Mollie Nelson. |
