Edward WenglerFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Friday, February 9, 1990 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Catholic Cemetery. OBITUARY: Edward Wengler Edward John Wenger, the son of William and Matilda (Bluel) Wengler, was born at Overton, Nebraska, on February 15, 1927, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 6, 1990, at the age of 62 years, 11 months, and 21 days. He grew up on a farm near Overton, and attended school at District #42. On November 16, 1949, he was united in marriage to Betty Chollar at Columbus. In 1950, they moved to a farm near Aurora, and farmed 5 years for Gene Tredway. Later, he worked for Grosshans Lumber Company and at Sacks Lumber Company. His last employment was at Dowd’s Grain Company, for about 10 years, before he became disabled. Ed was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora, and was also a member of REACT CB Club for about 5 years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and gardening. His favorite past time was having coffee with his friends. He also enjoyed holding and playing with his many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, one brother, Robert, and one grandchild. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Betty, of Aurora; 4 sons, Frank of Aurora, Ed, Jr. of Escondido, California, Paul of Ocean Side, California, and Mike of Grand Island. 5 daughters, Sandy Johnson of Escondido, California, Debbie Sweet of Aurora, Pauline Williams of Grand Island, Marsha Anderson of Aurora, and Barbara Anderson of St. Paul; 2 brothers, Leo of Wichita, Kansas, and Dean of Bennington; 2 sisters, Sarah Clabaugh of McCook and Mary Ann Schinzel of Overton; his father, William Wengler of Lexington; 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. |
