John WertFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, April 1, 1987 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: John Wert John M. Wert, the son of John and Nora (Castle) Wert, was born in Hamilton County, Nebraska, on April 9, 1907, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 28, 1987, at the age of 79 years, 11 months, and 19 days. He attended Aurora Schools, and on February 17, 1935, he was united in marriage to Ruth M. George in Kansas. John had farmed near Bradshaw and Aurora all his life, and in 1969 he retired and moved to Aurora, but continued to help his sons in the family farming operation. In August 1985, he and his wife moved into the Hamilton Manor. John was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, and belonged to the Hamilton County Feeders Association and the National Campers and Hikers Association. He had received the Hamilton County Feeders Award. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Ruth; 2 sons, Gail and his wife Norma and Gary and his wife Sharon all of Aurora. One daughter, Carolyn and her husband Ronal Henning of Lincoln; 2 sisters, Irene Garrett of Romaland, California, and Margaret Alan Vause of Dayton, Nevada; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and close friends. |
