Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, April 23, 1998 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Ruth Wert

Ruth Meleta Wert, the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Nickolaus) George, was born at Hampton, Nebraska, on August 17, 1911, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on April 19, 1998, at the age of 86 years, 8 months, and 2 days.

She grew up and received her education near Hampton.

On February 17, 1935, she was united in marriage to John Wert at Marysville, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1987.

After their marriage they farmed near Bradshaw and Aurora, and in 1969, they retired and moved into Aurora. On July 31, 1985, she entered the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

Ruth was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, had been a member of the National Campers and Hikers Association, and was a music lover.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Gary, 2 brothers, Elmer and Willis George, and 3 sisters Esther Hahle, Frances Harter, and Mildred Traudt.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son Gail and his wife Norma of Aurora; one daughter Carolyn Henning and her husband Ronald of Lincoln; one brother Edmund George of Hampton; one daughter-in-law Sharon Wert of Aurora; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
