Mardell Widhalm

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 8 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Catholic Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Mardell Sue Widhalm

Mardell “Mardy” Widhalm, the daughter of John and June (Siebert) Kramer, was born at Atkinson, Nebraska on January 30, 1958, and died at Aurora, Nebraska on November 4, 1995, at the age of 37 years, 9 months, and 4 days.

Mardy grew up and attended school in Atkinson, where she graduated from Atkinson West Holt High School. She then attended Kearney State College, earning an associate degree. She worked for Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

On August 2, 1980, she was united in marriage to Tim Widhalm at Kearney. They lived in Kearney, where she worked for Rockwell International. In 1982 they moved to Humphrey. She worked for the law firm of Mueting, DeLay, and Stouffer in Norfolk as a legal secretary.

They moved to Omaha in 1983, where her husband attended the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. During those years, Mardy worked for the law firm of Nelson and Harding, part time at a specialties store, and helped her husband manage an apartment complex. In 1989 following Tim’s graduation, they moved to Wichita, Kansas where Tim served his residency, and she worked for the American Red Cross.

In 1992 they moved to Aurora where her husband entered Family Practice. Mardy was able to work in her home, and became a vital part of the community.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora, St. Mary’s Altar Society, and taught senior high CCD.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, two sons Jarryd and Christian both at home, her parents John and June Kramer of Atkinson, one brother, John Kramer of Stuart, two sisters Janell Weeks of Omaha and Dawnita Buck of Grand Island, and grandparents Lou and Erna Siebert of Atkinson.
