Margaret WilcockFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 27, 1996 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Stockham Cemetery in Stockham, Nebraska. OBITUARY: Margaret Willcock Margaret Ann Willcock, the daughter of James and Sarah (Housel) Beat, was born at Stockham, Nebraska, on May 9, 1894, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on January 24, 1996, at the age of 101 years, 8 months, and 15 days. She grew up near Stockham, and attended Stockham Schools. On December 4, 1912, she was united in marriage to Martin Van Buren Willcock, at Stockham, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1953. Margaret was a mid-wife in Stockham and delivered many babies in that area. After moving to Aurora, she worked as a nurses aid at Larsen’s Nursing Home for many years. “Maggie” was a member of the Aurora Presbyterian United Church of Christ, belonged to the Presbyterian Guild, and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons, Ernest and Edwin; 2 daughters, Ellen Opfer and Eva brynes; 5 brothers, 2 sisters; one grandson, one step grandson, and 2 step great great grandchildren. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her 2 sons, Elvin of Falls Church, Virginia, and Elton of Hastings; 18 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 22 great great grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren, 20 step great grandchildren, and 11 step great great grandchildren. |
