Grace Williams

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 26, 1995 at the Aurora First Christian Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Grace Williams

Grace L. Williams, the daughter of Thomas and Emma (Williams) Carnes, was born in Perry, Illinois, on November 22, 1905, and died at Grand Island, Nebraska, on July 24, 1995, at the age of 89 years, 8 months, and 2 days.

At the age of 2, she came to Hamilton County with her parents, where she spent her entire lifetime. She was a 1925 graduate of Hampton High School.

On August 22, 1931, she was united in marriage to Merlon Williams at the First Christian Church in Lincoln, and all of their wedded life was spent in Aurora. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1981.

She was employed at the Einer Peterson Store and later the J.M. McDonald Company, serving the public for 43 years before retiring in 1969.

Grace was a long time member of the Aurora First Christian Church, and was active in her circle. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Post #4993 Auxiliary, in Aurora.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, Emory, Clarence, and Albert Carnes, and one sister Blanche Bottorf.

Survivors include one sister Hazel Morgan of Hermiston, Oregon and several nieces and nephews.
