Hilda WillisFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, August 22, 1984 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Hilda Lavina Willis Hilda Lavina Willis, the daughter of Oliver and Bessie E. (Willis) Johnson, was born January 7, 1914, at Aurora, Nebraska, and passed away August 19, 1984, at Aurora, Nebraska, at the age of 70 years, 7 months and 12 days. Her early childhood was spent in Aurora and Loup City and she attended grade school in Sherman County and attended high school in Loup City. In June of 1934, she returned to Aurora, and while there she met Theodore Swanson, and on April 7, 1938, they were married in Lincoln, Nebraska. They made their home in Aurora and two children were born to them, Alice Ann and Ted Lynn. Ted passed away on September 5, 1941. On November 6, 1946, she was united in marriage to Ralph Willis and Lois Elaine and Terry Lee were born to them. In 1960 she moved to Hastings, where she was employed in the kithchen of the Clark Hotel. She resided in Hastings for several years, and in 1970 she returned to Aurora and resided in the long term care unit of Memorial Hospital. Hilda was baptized and was a member of the 1st Christian Church in Aurora. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands and one brother Glenn Those who survive to cherish her memory are 2 sons, Theodore Swanson of Kearney and Terry Willis of Aurora; two daughters, Alice Ann Johnson of Polk and Lois Wochner of Hampton; three brothers, Willis and Orland Johnson of Camp Point, Illinois and Forrest Johnson of Lincoln, Illinois; one sister, Marianna Walker of Carthage, Illinois; 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and other relatives and close friends. |
