Wylda WilsonFuneral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 30, 1991 at the Aurora Pleasant View Bible Church. Interment was held in the Lerton Cemetery south of Giltner, Nebraska. OBITUARY: Wylda Wilson Wylda Martha Wilson, the daughter of Christian and Martha Steider Springer, was born January 26, 1904, at Seward, Nebraska, and passed away on August 26, 1991, at Aurora, Nebraska, at the age of 87 years and 7 months. The family moved to the Giltner area when she was an infant. She was educated in Hamilton County Schools and graduated from Giltner High School in 1923. She attended Bluffton College, at Bluffton, Ohio. She taught country schools in the county for several years, and later worked in banks in Giltner and California. On May 26, 1929, she was united in marriage to DeRoy Wilson at Aurora. He preceded her in death on September 4, 1984. They lived on the farm near Giltner until 1963, when they moved into Giltner. She continued to live there until 1989, when she moved to Aurora. Wylda lived an active life as a farm wife and mother. She had many interests and was involved in many activities. She was a 4-H leader, a member of Giltner Music Club, a member and past president of the Giltner Women’s Club, and Extension Club. She was a life long member of the Pleasant View Bible Church, and was a Sunday School Teacher, for many years. She loved the arts, flowers, gardening, music and reading. Her primary passion was her love for people and family, and she enjoyed sharing her life, home and food with everyone. She was interested in ancestral history and had written a book “Memories of Generations” about the Wilson and Danielson family. Wylda’s life was one of strong spiritual commitment, especially to the spreading of God’s Word. She maintained interests in missions, her Sunday School teaching, and her love of Bible reading and memorization. Through her life, love and example, many lives have been enriched. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband DeRoy, one sister, Pearl Newcomer, and one brother Melvin Springer. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son Donald and wife Ann of Giltner; her daughter Marilyn Voss and husband Don of Owatonna, Minnesota; 2 brothers, Harvey and Paul Springer, both of Aurora; 2 sisters, Verna Sears of Flanagan, Illinois and Glenda Nelson of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. |
