Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, May 27, 1986 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Phillip Wiltfong

Dr. Phillip Dean Wiltfong, D.V.M., the son of George and Louise (Butler) Wiltfong, was born at Clayton, Kansas, on March 11, 1928, and passed away at Lincoln, Nebraska, on May 24, 1986, at the age of 58 years, 2 months, and 13 days.

He grew up and attended school at Norcatur and Norton, Kansas, and was valedictorian of the class of 1946 at Norton High School.

He received his college education at Kansas State University and received his veterinary training there, earning his doctorate of veterinary medicine degree in 1952.

On August 25, 1951, he married Shirley Wood at Wilmore, Kansas. After graduation he practiced in Jacksonville, Illinois for a year and then in Red Cloud for six months before coming to Aurora in 1954.

He was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Aurora and was a member of Lodge No. 68 A.F. & A.M. in Aurora. He also was a member of the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Society of Theriogenology, American Bovine Practitioners Association.

He had been on the board of directors of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, a former member of the State Board of Health and the State Board of Veterinary Examiners. He also had been a member of the Rotary and Lions Clubs in Aurora and was a first lieutenant in the Air Force Reserve.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley; three sons, Donald of Edmond, Oklahoma, Daniel of Bakersfield, California and Thomas of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Connie Carroll of Lincoln and Cathryn Lacy of Des Moines, Iowa; his mother, Louise Wiltfong of Norton, Kansas; two brothers, Meredith of Omaha and Richard of Norton, Kansas; 3 grandchildren, John, Lucas and Anna Carroll, and many other relatives, friends, and business associates.
