Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 24, 1997 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Ina Wind

Ina Elvera Wind, the daughter of Peter and Wilhelmina (Jensen) Wind, was born near Hampton, Nebraska, on May 27, 1906, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on November 21, 1997, at the age of 91 years, 5 months, and 24 days.

She attended school in Greeley County, Nebraska, until her parents moved to a farm just outside of Aurora, where she graduated from Aurora High School in 1924. Following graduation she took Normal Training and taught school.

She began taking summer school classes from Chadron State College, University of Nebraska, and Kearney State College, and earned her lifetime teaching certificate. She taught school in many Nebraska communities. She taught in Aurora for 16 years, and was principal of East Ward for several years before retiring. She was a member of the Nebraska Retired Teacher’s Association.

Ina was a life time member of the Aurora First Christian Church, and was active in church circles. She was president of an extension club for 7 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Harvey Wind; and 3 sisters, Marie Johnson, Alice Dahlke, and Irene Foreman.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, many grand nieces and nephews, and several great grand nieces and nephews, and cousins.
