Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, March 26, 1987 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Catholic Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Martin Winter

Martin E. Winter, the son of Anthony and Rose (Roedl) Winter, was born at York, Nebraska, on December 6, 1916, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 24, 1987, at the age of 70 years, 3 months, and 18 days.

He grew up and attended country schools in the Bradshaw area, where the family farmed.

On January 27, 1948, he was united in marriage to Esther Heckeroth at York. She preceded him in death on April 23, 1967.

Martin served his country in the United States Army during World War II, from 1941 to 1945. After his discharge he was engaged in farming until 1969, when he worked for Grosshans Lumber and the Co-op both in Hampton. In 1974, he retired because of illness.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora; the Bradshaw V.F.W. and the Hampton American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother Paul.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his son, Gene of Hampton; a brother Tony of Bradshaw, and his two granddaughters Megan and Alison.
