Esther Wolfe

Esther Wolfe, age 85, of Aurora, died Wednesday, September 25, 2002, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 P.M., Friday, September 27th at the Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Rev. Rick Prettyman will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. on Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Pleasant View Bible Church Library Fund. OBITUARY: ESTHER WOLFE

Esther Lurye Wolfe, the daughter of Wilbur Allen and Myrtle May (Sailor) Wolfe, was born at Giltner, Nebraska on October 22, 1916 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on September 25, 2002, at the age of 85.

At an early age the family moved to a farm 1½ miles south of Stockham. Her schooling began at a Country School a mile from home. In 1929, the family moved to Stockham and Esther graduated from Stockham High School in 1935.

For several years she looked after and cared for her grandparents, Charley and Cora Sailor. Esther then moved to Omaha and worked for an Electric Company. In 1963, she moved to Grand Island and worked for the Grand Island Independent Newspaper until retirement in 1978. After retirement, she moved to Crossroads Court in Aurora.

While in Omaha she joined the Christian Missionary Alliance Church and transferred her membership to the Grand Island Church. After moving to Aurora, Esther joined the Pleasant View Bible Church. She participated in the Women's Fellowship doing needlework and giving to Missionaries in Foreign Lands.

She was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Archie and Vernon Wolfe; and a sister, Nina L. Wolfe.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her two sisters, Dorothy Wach and Wilma Nuss both of Aurora; sister-in-law, Mrs. Vernon Wolfe of Aurora, Colorado.
