Gladys Wolff
Gladys Wolff, age 95, of Aurora, died Monday, July 7, 2003, at Memorial Community Care. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, July 10th at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Brian Kottas will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. OBITUARY: GLADYS WOLFF Gladys Josephine Wolff, the daughter of Pete and Emma (Fjell) Christenson, was born in Clarks, Nebraska on November 7, 1907 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on July 7, 2003, at the age of 95 years. Her family moved to Hamilton County when she was 6 months old. Gladys attended Country School at District 63 and graduated from Marquette High School in 1927. Gladys was united in marriage to Harold Wolff on February 6, 1929 at Hastings. After their marriage they farmed north of Aurora, until they moved into Aurora, when they retired. Harold passed away on November 30, 1996. Gladys was baptized at the Swede Home Church in Polk. She attended Richland E.U.B. Church until it burned and then transferred to the E.U.B. Church in Aurora. At the time her death she was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. She was a charter member of the S.O.S. Club, Vice-Oracle of Royal Neighbors of America Camp 65, 4-H Club Leader for several years and Secretary and Treasurer of Dorcas Circle. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; three brothers, Fredolf, Lawrence, and Raymond Christenson and two sisters, Maxine Hutsell and Mabel Anderson. Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Shirley Weedin and her husband Lyle of Aurora, Virginia Boyden and her husband John of Golden, Colorado and Thelma Carlson and her husband Dick of Aurora; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson. She is also survived by her sister, Darlene Holloway of Aurora and twin brothers, Roland and Royal Christenson both of Aurora. |
