Richard Wortman
Richard Wortman, age 87, of Aurora died Thursday, June 5, 2008, at his home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, June 9th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Fr. Dennis Hunt will officiate. Interment will be in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska at 2:30 P.M. A Rosary will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday before the services. OBITUARY: RICHARD WORTMAN Richard J. Wortman, the son of John H. and Anna (Uhing) Wortman, was born in Brunswick, Nebraska on July 11, 1920 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on June 5, 2008, at the age of 87. He attended Sunnyside Country School and following two years of college, Richard served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Richard was in the real estate and insurance business, beginning his career in Omaha and then worked for over 40 years in the Los Angeles area. After retiring in 1995, he returned to Aurora, to be closer to family. Richard was a member of the D.A.V, the V.F.W, Knights of Columbus and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Leo, John, Edward, Henry and Ken Wortman. Those left to cherish his memory are his step-daughter, Pixie Kaminski of Santa Clarita, California; a granddaughter; three sisters, Adeline Thompson of Aurora, Edith Shuckman of Lexington and Marcella Wies of Lincoln; brother, Leonard Wortman of Creighton; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Wortman of Aurora and Margaret Wortman of Lexington and many nieces and nephews. |
