Emily Wright

Emily Wright, age 93, of Aurora died Friday night, November 12, 1999, at Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday at the Higby Mortuary Chapel in Aurora. Dr. Joe Scahill will officiate. Inurnment will be at Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 Sunday at Higby Mortuary.

OBITUARY: EMILY WRIGHT

Emily Jane Wright, the daughter of Harry and Sarah (McKern) Toof, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on May 11, 1906 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on November 12, 1999, at the age of 93 years, 6 months and 1 day.

She grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 1924. She attended the University of Nebraska. She taught school in rural Aurora and Chapel.

She was united in marriage to Glenn Wright on February 19, 1927 at Seward, Nebraska. They moved to a farm south Aurora until 1940. They bought a farm in Stratford, Iowa in 1941. They moved to Boone, Iowa in 1957 and continued to farm in Stratford. Glenn passed away on March 11, 1984. Emily moved to Hamilton Manor in November 1997.

Emily was a member of United Methodist Church, where she was involved in the Church Circle. She was a member of Questers and enjoyed antiques.

Her parents, husband, sister, Alyda Zehr and brother, Vernon Toof, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her brother Robert Toof of Colorado Springs, Colorado and one sister, Ruth Vetter of Aurora and nieces and nephews.
