Betty Wyant, age 72, of Aurora, died Thursday, April 12, 2001 at Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Dr. Joe Scahill will officiate. Burial will be at the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: BETTY WYANT
Betty J. Wyant, the daughter of Alvin and Eva (Green) Delaney, was born in Exeter, Nebraska on May 15, 1928 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on April 12, 2001, at the age of 72 years.
She spent her early childhood in Exeter and when the family moved to Lincoln, she graduated from Lincoln High School.
Betty was united in marriage to Lloyd "Lew" Wyant on May 15, 1947 at Lincoln, Nebraska. They lived on a farm northwest of Aurora. She worked at the hospital, several cafes and the flower shop during her lifetime in Aurora. They celebrated their 50th anniversary on May 15, 1997. "Lew" passed away on March 1, 1998.
Betty was a member of the United Methodist Church and the V.F.W. Auxiliary, where she had been past president.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Betty is survived by her son, Lew Wyant and his wife Shari of Omaha; granddaughters, Sara and Lindsay of Omaha; brother, Dick Delaney and his wife Doris of Haines City, Florida; half brother, Roy Delaney of Lincoln; nephews, Mike Delaney of Georgia and Jim Delaney of Virginia; nieces, Kathie Cann of Massachusetts and Carol Olson of Florida.
