Lloyd WyantFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, March 5, 1998 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Lloyd Wyant Lloyd Owen Wyant, the son of Lewis and Cora (Chaney) Wyant, was born at O’Neill, Nebraska, on August 2, 1925, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 1, 1998, at the age of 72 years, 6 months, and 29 days. He grew up and attended school at O’Neill and graduated from Central City High School in 1943. He served his country during World War Two in the United States Army, from October 26, 1944, until his discharge on December 1, 1946. Following his discharge he moved to Aurora and worked as a farm hand for Hans O. Jensen. On May 15, 1947, he was united in marriage to Betty Delaney at Lincoln, Nebraska. They lived on a farm northwest of Aurora and he continued working for Mr. Jensen. Later they moved into Aurora and he was employed at the Aurora Co-op elevator, and also worked for Adolph Nielsen. For the past 30 years he was employed as a body repairman for Wortman Motors until his retirement. After retiring he raised calves on the Bob Asher farm. Due to failing health the last few years he had resided at the Nebraska Veteran’s Hospital, and since October of 1996, he has resided at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora. “Big Lew” ws a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, was a lifetime member and past commander of the Aurora V.F.W. Post #4993, belonged to the Aurora American Legion Post #42, and held state offices in the Cooties District #9. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Albert, Frank, Bill, and Leon, and one sister Laura. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Betty of Aurora; his son Lewis and his wife Shari of Omaha; one sister Elizabeth Faull of Barstow, California; and 2 grand daughters Lindsay and Sara Wyant. |
