Mavis Wyatt

Mavis Wyatt, age 77, of Aurora, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010, at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, December 29th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Fr. Dennis Hunt will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. OBITUARY: MAVIS WYATT

Mavis Jean Wyatt, the daughter of Leslie G. and Rena E. (Rasher) Taylor, was born in Abilene, Kansas on February 18, 1933 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on December 26, 2010, at the age of 77.

She grew up in Salina, Kansas until the 4th grade. Her family moved to Topeka, Kansas, where Mavis graduated from Seaman High School. Mavis worked at Kaw Valley State Bank until her marriage.

Mavis was married to Glenn (Tom) Wyatt on February 17, 1951 at Topeka, Kansas. They lived in Delia, Kansas until 1974, before moving to Aurora. Mavis stayed home to raise their children; Debra, Tom, Chris and Michelle. Mavis began working as a C.N.A at Hamilton Manor. In 1981, Mavis went to school to become an L.P.N. After graduation she continued working at Hamilton Manor until 1995. In 1995, they moved to Henderson, North Carolina for two years. Upon returning to Aurora in 1997, Mavis worked at Hamilton Manor as a L.P.N. until she retired in 2003.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, two brothers and two great-grandsons.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Glenn (Tom) Wyatt of Aurora; four children, Debra (Larrry) McKinnon of Dallas, Georgia, Tom Wyatt of Grand Island, Chris Wyatt of Obion, Tennessee and Michelle Perry of Stanton; 7 grandchildren, Earl McKinnon, Mark McKinnon and Sara Mckinnon of Dallas Georgia, Tera Wyatt of Aurora, Brock Wyatt of Waverly, Tyler Perry of Aurora and Whitney Perry of Lincoln; 6 great-grandchildren, brother, John Taylor and sister, Maxine Kennedy both of Wichita, Kansas.
