William Zimmer

Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 10, 1992 at the Giltner United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Giltner Cemetery.

OBITUARY: William H. Zimmer

William H. Zimmer, the son of George and Lena (Brandt) Zimmer, was born at Pleasant Dale, Nebraska, on August 21, 1903, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 7, 1992, at the age of 88 years, 6 months, and 16 days.

He grew up and attended school at Pleasant Dale, and at age 14, began working for the Burlington Railraod, and moved to Huntley. In 1943, he moved to Giltner, where he continued working for the Burlington Railroad as a section foreman, for 50 years, and he retired in 1968.

On August 30, 1954, he was united in marriage to Mable Rich, at Clay Center.

He was a member of the Trumbull Christian Church, and he loved baseball, and coached teams in Giltner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Edward, Wesley, and George; and one sister Lucille Clark; an infant daughter Patricia, and one infant great grandson Michael.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Mable, of Giltner; one son Delvin; 2 daughters, Ardis Griffith of Giltner, and Marilyn Baysinger, of Odessa, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren, and several step-great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
