OBITUARY: Alda Zornes

Alda Louise Zornes, the daughter of George and Flora (Bottorf) Thomas, was born at Grand Island, Nebraska, on June 1, 1911, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on September 16, 1995, at the age of 84 years, 3 months, and 15 days. She was the daughter of a Hamilton County Pioneer family.

Shortly after her birth the family moved to Aurora, where she grew up, attended school, and graduated from Aurora High School with the class of 1927.

On August 17, 1927, she was united in marriage to Elza Zornes at Central City, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on December 10, 1977.

Alda lived all her married life in Aurora, except for a short time in Omaha. For the past year she has resided at the Community Care of America in Aurora.

She was a member of the Aurora Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers, Jim, George, and Oren, and 2 in infancy, a grand daughter Shari Zornes, and a grandson Timothy Zornes.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her 2 sons, Cecil and his wife Eileen of Grand Island, and Theodore and his wife Viola of Lincoln; 4 grandsons, 2 grand daughters, 6 great grandsons, and 4 great grand daughters.
