Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, July 15, 1989 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Maude Zornes

Susanna Maude Zornes, the daughter of William and Martha (Smith) Kirkpatrick, was born near Sergent, Nebraska, on June 30, 1907, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on July 13, 1989, at the age of 82 years and 13 days.

The family moved to Van Wert, Iowa when she was 4 years old, and later moved back to Phillips, Nebraska, where she attended school, and then they moved back to Iowa.

On July 17, 1924, she was united in marriage to William Zornes, Sr., at Leon, Iowa. In 1925 they moved back to Aurora, where she spent the rest of her life.

Maude was a member of the Aurora Assembly of God Church, and she spent her life as a housewife and caring for other people.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William, Sr., who preceded her in death on May 7, 1964, a daughter Louise Jessop, and 2 sisters, Mary Lantzer and one in infancy.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son William, Jr. of Lincoln; 3 brothers, Robert Kirkpatrick of Aurora, Bill Kirkpatrick of Story, Wyoming, and Jim Kirkpatrick of Sherridan, Wyoming; 3 sisters, Gertrude Birkinbine, of Yakama, Washington, Doris Preston of Lincoln, and Rosie Doell of Aurora; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many other nieces and nephews and close friends.
